It's Thanksgiving and I had a craft pack for making Thanksgiving placemats. Included in the pack were all kinds of fall foam cutouts, glitter glue and the placemats themselves. I thought, "How fun! We can make these and bring them to the Thanksgiving dinner party". Little did I know that Daddy would throw a wrench into my perfect little plan. His creative mind came up with the Great Jazz Acorn instead.
Daddy's.
Isaiah's.
Sammy's.
At lease Maddie had finished hers before she saw the acorn debacle. I guess that's what you get when you marry an independent thinker.
We had 2 farmers, 1 princess and a Mario and Luigi roaming around Nonny and Papa's neighborhood on Halloween this year. When you grow up living on a major highway, it goes without saying that you have to use someone else's neighborhood for trick or treating. This year we were smart and pulled a wagon for the kids when they grew weary of walking from house to house. We would just roll right up to the house's door and they would jump out to collect their treats. I do declare, these kids don't even have to work for their candy these days!
Isaiah found a magnifying glass and decided he would try to start a fire with the sun and some pine needles. With a little extra help from Daddy to get it set up, Isaiah sat in this position for a long time. It did smoke, but never ignited.
The turkeys are full-grown and ready for the chopping block. Seven full-sized turkeys are a bit too many for their run. We will need to cull the flock before spring mating season or we may see a couple of fights over the female turkeys!
We had an organized trip to the local pumpkin patch with other homeschool kids. It had rained all night and morning but we took our chances and went anyway. I'm glad we did because the rain held off and we had a great time.
There was a covered play area, petting zoo, outdoor corn maze (closed because of the mud), hayride, juice and popcorn all for $3. Not bad!
Maddie in the indoor straw maze. Sized just right for small kids.
See the mud all over her legs? We were at the pumpkin patch maybe 3 seconds before she fall face down in the mud!
Waiting in line for more juice.
Sammy sitting with friends eating his popcorn and juice.
The boys on the teeter-totter. Through the mud and rain, it turned out to be a really fun outing.
The kids have this book. They love it when Fred hops out of the oven and runs around town. One boring day we all decided we'd try and bake our own Gingerbread Fred!
While the gingerbread men were cooking, I told the kids that they better watch the cookies to see which one sat up first. When they were almost done, I told them that they needed their shoes on in case one of the cookies tried to escape. Let me just say that they were excited!!!
Awwwww..... I guess none of them tried to escape. One did run around the house, but Isaiah caught him. (he's faster than me now!)
But they'll be fun to eat anyway!
The kids are always involved in everything Henry and I do... whether we want them to be or not. However, exercise is something they can always be involved in! We popped in an exercise video and the kids couldn't get close enough to the action.
Maddie's crown and heels didn't slow her down!
Looks at Sammy's flexibility!
