We decided to rip out the unsightly bushes in the front of our house and put in better landscaping. After much guildance from a landscaper, we purchased a truckload of plants last Saturday. Isaiah loved unloading the plants from the truck and digging the holes. We're still in the process of getting all the plants in the ground. We had to dig 48 holes!
We're debating between laying rock around the plants or just pine straw. The upside to pine straw is we have lots and lots of it (free!) and will blend with the needles that fall every day (unfortunately). The upside to rock is we can blow off the pine needles and it will have a cleaner look.

I've being researching about Landscaping and reading your blog, I found your post very helpful :) . I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading.
